My passion: Caporales

My passion is dancing caporales. Caporales is a traditional dance from Bolivia, I've been dancing caporales for seven years now. I dance in the group Caporales San Simon VA USA. We go to different states to perform our dance. From Virginia to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and lots more. I like dancing caporales because it's a very exciting dance. It is also a good workout. Practices are held every Sunday and we practice for three hours. I am not bolivian but i enjoy it and it is something that I see myself doing for a very long time. Caporales in Virginia has became a good activity for a lot of teenagers. Dancing caporales benefits me, it is an out of school activity that has kept me from getting in trouble. traveling & dancing in parades is the best part. We perform in so many parades. Audiences in those presentations seem very interested and it sometimes makes them want to join as well. Like when I performed in the Heritage assembly, my classmates were very interested and so far now I have gotten about four of them to join my group and they love it. I like recruiting for this dance. I make fliers and also post information on Twitter and Facebook.

  1. Wow! Looks like *a lot* of fun! And a great way to stay in shape too.

When you and Deborah were talking about making a dance instruction video, was Caporales the dance you were going to teach?

  2. The dance that we are trying to do is called "Bachata" and we can also do other dances. Debbie and I are the only ones that know how to dance caporales and since were doing it with other classmates we would like to stick to the things we all know.

  3. On Monday, write a new blog post with answers to these specific questions:

    1. Who will be making this video? (think about how many people you need - I think three, right?)
    2. Of the people listed in 1 above, who will be doing what?
    3. What tools do you need? (make a list - Mac computer with ...)

Please give *specific* answers to these three questions. Also mention in the blog post the dance you will do first (Bachata). I found some youtube links to other videos with this dance. Have you seen them?
